Barbara Broccoli, Heating up, and Where's lunch?

So i started this Wed night about Wed's camp ... and I finally finished it. Here ya go...

Today's heat index hit well above 100 degrees once again ... which meant for another exciting day at Camp Wa-Nik-Ska-Ka.

8:00 -- Arrived at camp at aexactly 8 according to the Jeep clock, but the camp clock is always later. So I decided rather than sprinting down to time in exactly at 8 only to be dissapointed, I'd take a few moments to take the windows off the Jeep so I would have a cool vehicle in the afternoon. The yellow wrangler is such a hot vehicle with the top down or windows off. I way dig!

8:10 -- Played kickball. It was campers vs. counselors. I love campers vs counselors! Unfortunately they scored one run because Walter decided to showboat rather than turn the Double Play. Ugh, stupid rookie shortstops! Haha. I also flied out while at bat even though I booted the ball way into left field. Like deep left and I thought I had an easy double, prolly a homer ... except some all-star caught it. I can imagine he had a huge red spot on his stomach, but whatever, more props to him.

8:45 -- Because of the heat the schedule was changed, we had our one our with our tribe (Pow-Wow time) at 8:45 and then at 9:45 it was all camp swim until lunch time at 11:45. Today we played this sweet game called Look,Speak, Draw while Kimberly and I made reminders for the kids to take home (next week we're having a Hawaiian Luau for our theme lunch). On a side note, how in the heck do you spell Hawaiian and Luau? Kimbo thinks there is an h at the end of LUAH and I thought Hawaiian looked funny with two I's (but I am pretty sure it's right). Yeah, that's right, it was quite the exciting hour. Haha.

9:45 -- All camp swim begins. This was great times, except that it was cloudy the whole time! It's like way too sunny and a million degrees all freaking day, except for the two hours we had swim time. Then it was overcast, looked like rain and slightly windy. It was actually a little too cold to be in the pool for very long. AND I didn't even get a chance to get my legs, torso, forehead or sideburn spots tanned like they need to be!

11:45 -- Lunch begins and we're just getting back from the pool.

12:08 - I begin eating after setting up lunch for the kids and getting everyone set.

12:15 - Lunch Ends. You have got to be kidding me!! WTF! Haha ... oh well, on to the day's activities...

12:20 - I go down with the tribe to the basement where they are watching a movie for games (because of the heat, this is fairly common thus far). It's supposed to be my hour off, but I see some ad for this old show i used to love on PBS, called Wishbone, and I was like, if they're watching Wishbone i am soooooo staying here to watch that. But it turns out that it was actually this like 45 minute advertisement for Disney World Resorts, so I decided a nap was in order. All the blankets were taken so I crashed on the blanket that Walter's tribe uses...'twas a good nap.

1:15 -- Then came Tribal Treat. For the second day in a row some ecology action center-club-group-thing came out and had three stations set up for the kids. We didn't even get to the third, the second was boring for counselors, and the first needed about 30 more minutes ... however, at the first station i did find out that Broccoli was not actually here on earth from the beginning. A hundred years ago or something it was invented. And at the beginning of the old James Bond movies it says they are produced or paid for or something by Albert Broccoli. Albert Broccoli is like the son or grandson of the guy who invented broccoli and of course the veggie got it's name from the inventor. So this guy invents Broccoli by cross-pollonating cauliflower and celery or something...his son buys the rights from Ian flemming for making Bond movies, puts up the money for the movies ... and now his daughter Barbara Broccoli is running the show since Albert's death. HAHAHA, what a name!!!! Barbara Broccoli!!!!! Who would do that to their kid!

2:15 -- Craft time! i love craft time! Kim challenged me to a race in the new daily seek and find! She took a big advantage, but I totally pwned!!

That's about all I remember at the moment...

Hope you are enjoying Camp Wa-Nik-Ska-ka as much as we are!
